Ethereal Sciences Academy is committed to making its platform accessible to all students, regardless of ability or technology. We believe that serious education should have no unnecessary barriers — and that commitment extends to how the platform is built and experienced.

ESA is an independent online institution operated by AO2 IT LLC. We are actively working to ensure our platform meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards.

ESA's platform is designed with the following accessibility considerations:

• High-contrast dark theme with clearly differentiated text and background colors
• Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy
• Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
• Keyboard-navigable course and quiz interfaces
• Responsive design — fully functional on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
• No auto-playing audio or video content
• Form labels and error messages designed for screen reader compatibility
• RewriteNaturally and Prompt Lab tools are text-based and screen reader accessible

ESA's fully self-paced format is itself an accessibility feature. There are no timed sessions, no live attendance requirements, and no deadlines that penalize students who need more time. Students may pause, revisit, and repeat any module as many times as needed. Quiz attempts are unlimited at no penalty — students can retake assessments until they achieve passing results.

This structure benefits students with learning differences, chronic illness, caregiving responsibilities, or any circumstance that requires a flexible, non-punitive academic environment.

ESA is an independent platform built and maintained by a small team. While we are committed to accessibility, we acknowledge that some areas of the platform may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Known areas under active improvement include:

• Full ARIA landmark coverage on all interactive components
• Enhanced focus indicators on custom UI elements
• Captions for any future video content

We are committed to addressing these gaps on an ongoing basis.

ESA's platform is designed to be compatible with commonly used assistive technologies, including:

• Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
• Keyboard-only navigation
• Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality
• High-contrast browser modes

We will work with you individually to find a solution. No student should be prevented from earning their credential due to a platform limitation we can address.
