Sir William Barrett School of Parapsychology

Serious Study for Curious Minds — 100% Online, Self-Paced.

Ethereal Sciences Academy (ESA) is an independent online institution dedicated to the structured study of disciplines that exist at the edges of conventional academia—where science, philosophy, theology, consciousness, and unexplained phenomena intersect.

ESA School of Parapsychology
Discipline

Parapsychology is the scientific study of anomalous human capacities — ESP, remote viewing, psychokinesis, precognition, telepathy, and consciousness survival. It sits at the intersection of psychology, physics, and human experience, drawing on controlled experimental research, case documentation, and theoretical frameworks that challenge the boundaries of conventional neuroscience and cognitive science.

Why It Matters

Parapsychology is one of the most misunderstood and most important disciplines in the history of science. The researchers who have done serious work in this field — at Stanford, Princeton, and the SRI — have produced findings that mainstream academia still hasn't fully confronted. A credential in Parapsychology positions you to speak with authority in a conversation the world is only beginning to have.

Your Edge Today

As NHI disclosure accelerates and questions about non-local consciousness move from fringe to frontier, parapsychological literacy is becoming essential for anyone serious about understanding intelligence beyond the biological. ESA's Parapsychology program gives you the theoretical framework and research vocabulary to engage these questions at the highest level.

“Barrett did not abandon science to study the paranormal. He brought science with him — and that is precisely what made him dangerous to the people who wanted these questions to stay unanswered. That is the model ESA's parapsychology school follows.”

Sir William Barrett School of Parapsychology

Why I Named This School
After Sir William Barrett.

Sir William Fletcher Barrett was a Fellow of the Royal Society — one of the most credentialed physicists of the Victorian era — and he spent a significant portion of his career investigating phenomena that his colleagues considered beneath serious scientific attention. He did not care. Barrett had witnessed things that his instruments could not explain and his training could not dismiss, and he believed that the honest response to unexplained evidence was more investigation, not less. In 1882, he co-founded the Society for Psychical Research — the first organization to apply rigorous scientific methodology to the study of telepathy, apparitions, and consciousness beyond the body. He paid a professional price for that decision. He made it anyway.

I dedicated ESA's School of Parapsychology to Sir William Barrett because he is the model of what this field has always needed and rarely had: a credentialed scientist willing to follow the evidence into uncomfortable territory without abandoning the discipline that made him credible. That combination — rigorous methodology applied to phenomena that conventional science refuses to examine — is exactly what ESA's parapsychology program is built to produce. Barrett did not ask permission to take these questions seriously. Neither does ESA.
